Deal Starters: Innovation, combined with critical and minimalistic thinking, drive, perseverance, and ability to change direction.
Non-starters: Lack of integrity, an unyielding urge to fool others
Outside Activities: Health and fitness; an avid runner who participates in local races. Macroeconomic trends, Euro Union, and the ongoing EU crisis. Contemporary literature and international traveling.

Prior to joining CMEA, Asad worked in the semiconductor industry in Silicon Valley where he led global teams on product design and development projects. Over his 15+ years in the industry, he held positions in engineering, management, and worldwide operations and oversaw breakthrough product innovation and technology migration in a very intense and competitive environment.

When Asad decided to pursue the path of venture capitalism, he signed up for the MBA program at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. While at UCLA, he focused on finance, venture capital and private equity business models, and entrepreneurship. He combined his curriculum with a passion for international traveling and undertook courses at several universities across Europe and in Asia.

One of Asad’s goals is to engage in high-impact, value-added activities with people who are intelligent, driven, passionate, and comfortable going against the grain. At CMEA, he is tracking performance milestones of value driver portfolio companies with the aim of helping portfolio companies maximize their business and financial performance. He is also involved in managing CMEA funds, forecasting cash flows, and raising capital for smooth financial operations on a day-to-day basis.
