Carol knows that sometimes just getting your foot in the door can make all the difference and she has certainly applied that philosophy throughout her career. She started her television career as a part-time teleprompter operator. There was even a stint as a weekend weather anchor. Nine years later, she was an Art Director at an independent station in San Francisco.
The most important thing she learned from her television days? Discipline. “I would get creative assignments at 5:00 o’clock that had to be finished for the 6:00 o’clock news. You just had to focus and get it done. I still tap into the discipline I learned back then every day of my life.”
In 2003, Carol took a temporary front desk position at CMEA and six years later is the Marketing Communications Manager. “I feel like this position brings together every job I’ve ever done under one umbrella and I get to use both sides of my brain.”
On the weekends, you might find Carol hiking on a trail in the Marin Headlands or Point Reyes. “It is really wonderful to live in a place where you have all the advantages that a large metropolitan area has to offer, yet you can drive just a short distance and feel like you are a million miles away from the City.”
