Sumeet has spent much of his free time traveling across six continents, including visiting over 30 countries in the last six years. He finds new perspectives through his travels and sees new ways of doing things, often inspired by different infrastructure or business paradigms. For example: embracing wireless devices as the primary method for commerce, establishing the right incentives for alternative energy growth, or new methods for delivering quality education remotely.

It is this type of revolutionary thinking Sumeet looks for in companies – those that create new business models that challenge the status quo and are “game-changers”. Great entrepreneurs start out with questions like “If we had to solve the problem with a clean sheet of paper, what would it look like?”

Sumeet brings a perspective to investing that comes from having been intimately involved with entrepreneurship and technology from multiple angles – as a startup executive and operator, an engineer, a strategy consultant, and an investment banker.

Sumeet most recently was with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in its technology investment banking group. At Goldman Sachs, he focused on mergers and acquisitions as well as equity and debt financing transactions for many venture and private equity backed companies in the software, internet and semiconductor sectors. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Sumeet held positions in sales and business development at iManage, a content management software company until its acquisition by Interwoven in 2003.

Previously, Sumeet was with Personify, an early web analytics software company (acquired by Accrue Software), where he helped grow the company with roles in product management, business development, sales and professional services. Sumeet began his career with Andersen Consulting (Accenture) where he worked on strategy for companies in Andersen Technology Ventures portfolio.
